EXCLUSIVE – For the first time seen in Syria – the IRM-6 Armored Chemical Radiation Detector Vehicle

Daraa: For the first time ever, a armored chemical radiation detector “IMR-6” vehicle was seen in Southwestern Syria and was designed on the basis of the PTR-80.

It differs from PTR in its external form with special equipment on its outer body. In particular, there is a remote control sensor, “PRDDD2B”, and with its help, the military can detect and identify toxic substances within 3 km of the presumed pollution area.

The Armored Corps is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including satellite navigation, and collects information and sends it to the command center. It is armed with a 14.5mm KVVT machine gun and a 7.62 mm PKM picket. The top speed is 80 km per hour on the highway and the water surface is 9 km per hour and weighs 13.5 tons and its crew has 3 people.

According to military experts, the IMR-6 is currently one of the best armored vehicles in the world, and is necessary in Syria, where insurgents use toxic materials repeatedly. By using them, threats can be effectively identified and thousands of civilians saved.
